Winter Wonderland

Despite the fact that we are all coughing, and Martin was in bed with a fever, I still managed to get the boys out to play in the snow this morning. We haven't had a lot of sunshine due to the constant snow, so it was a must to go outside NO MATTER WHAT and soak it up!

We have huge snow banks in our driveway that make sledding a lot of fun and easy. We do not have to travel anywhere and they are big enough that the boys don't have to walk forever to get backup the hill. I even gave it a go!

I did attempt to snowshoe around the house, but the snow was a little too deep and I still sunk down, therefore tipping Jacob over in his sled as well!

Mason and I played mini hockey for a bit. It is really quite fun. We didn't bring the nets out with us so we just used Max Dog as a goalie. Unfortunately she moved a lot so Mason got a lot of goals on me!

Me sliding! Yippee!

Logan went exploring on his own around the house using his hockey stick as a walking stick. He could also measure how deep the snow was!

The boys even played in Grandpapa's truck. This was the highlight of Jacob's morning. I don't know what it is about boys, but playing in the back of a pick up truck seems to bring smiles anytime!

After over an hour of being outside Jacob passed out on his Spider Man couch and Mason was not too far behind. Logan came in about 30 minutes before us and was found already sleeping with Daddy!

Other fun things to do in the snow around here are 4-wheeling, skidooing, ice skating, cross country skiing and the list goes on. It is funny how if we are having fun in snow we do not notice the -10 degree celcius temperature! Of course I think -15 is the limit for me. The -30 weather just freezes me from the inside out!

In Quebec we have many different winter celebrations all over the place to remind us to have fun in the snow. It isn't going away anytime soon so rather that groaning about the snow it is way more fun, and more energy efficient, to enjoy it!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
